The well awaited MTV Video Music Awards were skipped by Taylor Swift. This elicited the rumors as to what the reason for her absence might have been, her ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris or the “Famous” Kanye West or no nominations.
Kanye West did address his current feud with Taylor Swift due to his song ‘Famous’.
On the other hand, Calvin Harris made no mention of Taylor when he bagged the Best male video award for ‘This Is What You Came For’, which Taylor helped him write. He did thank Rihanna through a video since he is on tour.
Calvin Harris who broke off with Taylor this June said in his speech: “Thanks, Rihanna, from the bottom of my heart. You’re a superstar.”
Taylor Swift couldn’t attend the award show due to her jury duty summons in Nashville.
The pop star came up for selection to be vetted by court, for an aggravated rape and kidnapping case that ‘involved a man who allegedly penetrated a woman with a broom handle after holding her at bay.’
But she was dismissed by a judge after the singer herself revealed that she could act bias in this type of case. She threw light upon a case of her against radio host David Mueller in Colorado who allegedly touched her inappropriately during a concert in June 2013 and was subsequently fired from his radio job.
Furthermore, the “Style” singer also had her security team remove David from the concert.
David tried to sue Taylor for this allegation and in turn was countersued by her. According to the counterclaim, attorneys said she was “surprised, upset, offended, and alarmed” by the alleged assault.
Despite being released from the jury duty, Taylor was gracious with other jurors who took selfies with her and got autographs. They were enthusiastic by being in her company.
