“A Walk To Remember” For Kareena Kapoor Khan

Kareena Kapoor Khan is one of the boldest actresses we have in the Bollywood industry. She has always been the one trying to break stereotypes – be with her avant-garde films, sense of fashion or by her being perfectly happy and confident during pregnancy.

Ever since the 35-year-old announced her pregnancy in July, she was never seen shying away from media or trying to hide her baby bump. Instead, she was her usual self- always fashionably dressed and confidently strutting – giving all the moms-to-be around the world serious fashion goals.

But on August 28, the Tashan star took the world by storm and created history altogether, by being the first Bollywood actress to burn the ramp during her pregnancy. Proudly flaunting her baby bump, Kareena described her moment as a showstopper in the Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2016, to be special and emotional. Looking every bit of her resplendent self in the effulgent Sabyasachi olive green lehenga, the actress was quoted saying,

“I must say it’s not one but two of us. It’s a very special moment. I have never walked for Sabyasachi before, we were not able to do a film together. But this moment is very special. It’s going to be in the history. I am actually very emotional right now. It is a moment I want everyone to cherish. I would like to say Sabyasachi is not a designer, he is an artist. He creates a painting. I am really honored to wear this artist.”

She also further went on to say,

“I was happy and confident. A pregnant woman can walk and fly and for me, it’s absolutely normal. When it comes to my work, acting is my passion and I will work till I die. As long as I am doing what I love, I am going to do that,”

Sabyasachi too was all in praise for the mom-to-be, and said,

“She is gorgeous and added more volume to the outfit. I hope our association will continue from here on”.

As the Begum glided on the ramp, she was furthermore cheered on by her elder sister, Karishma Kapoor, actress Deepika Padukone, and the recently married Bipasha Basu, all seated in the front row trying to make the moment every bit more special for the lady, who gracefully deserved all of it and much more.
