The 31st October trailer, starring Vir Das and Soha Ali Khan has released and is all based on the 1984 Anti-Sikh riots that shook the entire nation.
However, it is not the first time that the 1984 Anti-Sikh riots are being portrayed on the Silver Screen. Films like Kaya Taran (2004), Amu (2005), and Punjab 1984 (2014), have already intricately captured the intrinsic details of the atrocities of the riot – with Amu even going forward to win the National Award for Best Feature Film in English.
We hope, 31st October too, does justice to its theme and successfully answers the two significant questions it puts forward in its trailer – “Are all Sikhs murders of Indira Gandhi?” and “Are all Sikhs traitors?”
Watch the trailer for yourself and let us know in the comments section if 7th of October is the day that you will choose to remind yourself of the horrors of injustice that took place on the 31st of October, 1984.
