Actress Anushka Sharma is currently riding high on the success of her film Sultan opposite Salman Khan.
On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Anushka’s younger brother Karnesh spilled the beans on the actress in a candid conversation.
He was a state-level cricket player and played for the Ranji trophy. He is currently serving in the Merchant Navy force.
According to Karnesh, Anushka always gets restless when she has to pack for an outdoor shoot. It stresses her out and he has a good laugh about it. Another tidbit he revealed was that she wakes up early in the morning from her sleep, out of hunger. She has some eateables kept for her to eat and binge on, and then she goes back to sleep. And finally, she has read the Bhagavad Gita and Ramayan multiple times and she loves reading them time and again.
Anushka and Karnesh had turned producers with NH10 (2015). The movie did well commercially and had also garnered critical acclaim.
In a joint interview on the occasion of National Siblings Day (April 10) both were asked: What is it like, working with a sibling — good, bad or ugly?
Karnesh: It’s all of it. It’s good, it’s bad, very bad, sometimes torturous and suicidal (laughs).
Anushka: He’s right, it’s not all good, because somewhere, as family, you take each other for granted. When you have to speak to somebody from your workspace, you’ll be tactful. But with your sibling, you talk with no holds barred. So, sometimes, we end up fighting. But these are things we are both aware of. The good bit that comes out of working together is far more. Also, we are too close. If we didn’t have such a strong relationship, it would’ve been different. In our case, he is my best friend.
Karnesh: What’s important is that at the end of it all, there’s trust. So, even though there might be issues, we know that we can trust each other blindly.
Anushka: He and I have never had different opinions. Our approaches may differ, but our final result is the same.
Anushka will next be seen in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil which is slated to release on 28th October, 2016. It also stars Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai and Fawad Khan.
