Kim K exposes Taylor Swift: Part 3 – Repercussions

This is Kim and Taylor Saga’s Part 3. You can read the part 1 which explains the history of this squabble here and to catch up to the current situation click here.

Now that you have been caught up with the drama, let’s talk about aftermath.

There is no proof of Kanye saying the words “that bitch” to Taylor but fans also pointed out that there is no proof to Taylor’s claim that she told Kanye not to release the song due to misogynistic message, because all we heard were praises and approvals from her for the part of the lyrics she did hear.

Further, we hear Taylor thanking Kanye for the heads up. Then we hear the following words:

“I don’t think anyone would listen to that and be like that’s a real diss she must be crying. You’ve gotta tell the story the way that it happened to you and the way that you experienced it. You honestly didn’t know who I was before that. It doesn’t matter that I sold 7 million of that album before you did that which is what happened, you didn’t know who I was before that. It’s fine.”

It is clearly in response to the famous comment, but that would mean Taylor heard the line ‘I made that b*tch famous’. Maybe he added those words later. But all this does prove that there was a conversation. Just one, but it did happen.

But when she accepted Grammy award, she was really defensive even though she knew that the song was going to drop. She almost acted as if she was completely oblivious to it.

Moreover people also pointed out that in the Instagram post, at the top the label said ‘Search’ and not ‘Notes’. That would mean Taylor already typed it out and apology before and was just posting it. If you have just written something, it would be on top of the notes list and not somewhere down. Right?

Now to the more legal part, TMZ reported that they had acquired a copy of Taylor threatening Kanye with criminal prosecution and this happened months ago.

The letter threatens … “Demand is hereby made that you immediately destroy all such recordings, provide us of assurance that this has been done, and also assurance that these recordings have not been previously disseminated.”(Source: TMZ)

When Taylor’s people sent the request to destroy all the recordings, it was according to California Law, which would mean she was in California. But in one of the responses by Taylor’s camp earlier, the say that, Taylor and Kanye did speak once, when she was on vacation with her family. “On vacation” which may mean Taylor was not in California when this happened. In the beginning of the conversation in the Snapchat, we hear Kanye asking Taylor about the Nashville number. It’s all very confusing.

Another twist to this story is, if Kanye was in New York during that conversation was recorded, then he won’t be in trouble because New York has one party consent law, which means as long as one of the party knows they are being recorded it is not illegal. The situation is similar if Taylor was in Nashville, Tennessee which also has a one party consent law. All of this depends on where each of the party was during the recording which is a doozy because both of them have several homes across America.

Selena Gomez tweeted, “There are more important things to talk about… Why can’t people use their voice for something that fucking matters?”

“Truth is last thing we need right now is hate, in any form”

A lot of celebs has similar messages.

But others like Katy Perry, Hailey Baldwin, Kendal Jenner and more had no trouble clearly expressing whose side of the fence they are on.

In the meantime Joseph Khan who has directed several of Taylor’s music video jumped in with this tweet.

Oh God!! If you aren’t caught up on People v/s O.J. Simpson, then you won’t understand the reference. Joseph Khan is talking about O.J. Simpson allegedly not killing his wife Nicole Simpson and how Robert Kardashian (F/o Kim K) was part of OJ’s defense team. (Just watch the show you won’t regret it!). This lead it him being blasted because he compared a video maybe exposing mean side of Taylor Swift to a woman allegedly being stabbed to death. Hyperbole much?!!

TMZ finally also reported that Kanye may go scot-free. It’s because while it is illegal to record a conversation in California. It is not illegal to record a conversation that maybe over heard. TMZ acquired the whole tape and there was proof Taylor knew there were other people on the end of the line.

TMZ reports: We’ve heard the full tape … and Taylor knew she was overheard. The conversation from Kanye’s end was on speaker phone, and during the call producer Rick Rubin speaks up several times. Members of the crew filming Kanye on the call also speak in the room.

Moreover, Taylor accidentally seems to have given her blessings by saying, “You’ve gotta tell the story the way that it happened to you and the way that you experienced it.”

So the possibility of anything legal seems to have died down.

This whole situation blew up because it directly hit the whole Taylor Swift’s good girl image. Sure she makes bad relationship choices but who doesn’t! After all she is a girl in her 20’s, but the whole leaked videos seems to have cast a shadow on that and portrays her a mean girl-esque person.

But there are speculations as that this whole fiasco might have been a publicity stunt. In the world of Hollywood and pop culture, it just might be! Who knows?
